Entry #2

http://www.ihavenet.com/World-Spain-Chavez-a-Pain-for-Spain-JB.html

Basically what this article is saying is that Hugo Chavez wants to resolve peace with Spain but unfortunate past events are preventing the relationship between the two countries to continue to get any better.  Spain believes that Venezuela to be home ETA terrorist.  As well as Chavez interrupted a speech  by the Spanish prime minister in order to offer up some of his thoughts of the speech this is when the Spanish king Juan Carlos cried out "why don't you just shut up?" this is what is believed to be straining the relationship between the two countries.

The article was well written and easy to follow, I was not aware that the strain between the two countries as so great and that they were in dislike of each other.  I doubt that this event will affect me at all.

Spanish 2 - First Blog Post

My goals for in Spanish 2 are to adequately be able to talk, listen, and better understand Spanish.  I want to be able to hold a conversation with someone and understand everything that I am saying and what they are saying as well.  Another goal is to pass the class with an A of course.

I learn best through writing things down, looking at them, and remembering what they mean and when to use them.  I also learn well when I'm put in a situation where I have to think my answers through and analyze every possible solution.  I need sarcasm and fun put into lessons as well, not just seriousness and notes.

In Spanish 1 Mrs. Keenan taught us the basics and how to form words together to make sentences that we could use in everyday life.  We spent a lot of time going over stem-changing or shoe verbs.  Activities that I liked that Mrs. Keenan did was the slap game, magic squares, and the vocabulary note cards.  All of these things were fun, challenging, and taught me what I needed to know.  But the activities in the workbook and book helped as well, not as fun, but helped none the least.
